Sustainable contemporary jewellery, handmade in Scotland from reclaimed materials
I am committed to making work which is ethical and sustainable. This means that I use reclaimed materials, which I salvage from beaches, in the street, from household and industrial waste. Where possible, I only use recycled silver, Eco Silver, or recycled in the studio. As more eco options in metals become available, I am switching to these. I minimise waste, reusing as much as I possible can and recycling what I am not able to re-use. I am working towards removing or minimising processes and materials which have a negative environmental impact. I no longer purchase new precious and semi-precious stones and beads when I have no evidence of ethical provenance and reuse and recycle stones and beads wherever possible. I also use eco friendly and recycled packaging and display materials. I welcome ideas and suggestions about how to continue to improve sustainability.
I am very lucky that people often give me found plastic 'treasure', which I can use in my work and some commission me to make work from specific finds, which I love to do. Please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss this, if you have a lovely find!
